Hello, lovely friends!! Happy New Year, and welcome to Chere Kaye Designs for 2022. I’m excited about the upcoming year for both my personal life and business, and am really looking forward to sharing with you all.
We have had a wonderful holiday season here. My daughter, Brooke, and her husband Jake came home from Alaska to visit for two weeks, and we have had such fun spending time with them. They are stationed there for a few more years, so it was extra special to see them for the holidays. They go back home this week, so we are milking the days for all they’re worth. Miss these kids a ton!
I normally write a year in review of my favorites this time of year, and I still might this week. It’s a good practice for me to review what happened in the previous year, and a lot of the times, I mark time by the books and music I’m listening to. I can tell you that one of my favorite bands, The Lumineers, are releasing new music tomorrow, and I am EXCITED! It’s a short album from what I can tell, but it will be played over and over here. Can’t wait!
One thing I do want to share is my word of the year for 2022. Each year, I work with Shawna Clingerman’s Whole Hearted Words program and choose a word to kind of stick with me for the year. In 2020, I chose Real – it was a year of being honest with myself and doing the right thing over and over again. For 2021, my word was Care – caring for my family and myself in a more deliberate way. Both of those words have served me well and showed up over and over again (even past their year’s end!). This year, I am choosing (or it has chosen me) – Delight. I want to find delight in my day to day life, and especially in my creativity and work. I feel excited and a little nervous about my word, which I can tell from experience is normal for me. It will visit with me all year long and I can’t wait to see where we go in 2022!
